Inspiration: Saul Bass

I am loving this truthful video of Saul Bass discussing beauty, craft, and  aesthetic VS money, time, and business. And how everything that is beautiful costs money and time to make it so – it is cheap to make ugly things.

“It’s worth it to me. It’s the way I want to live my life. I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares.” – Saul Bass

What a great video. In this age of rapid prototyping, immediate convenience and having to meet the customer “where they are”, it’s refreshing to be reminded about the value of truly great work and not just the price and quick buck.

Make the time to make beautiful things… sounds good to me. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks Trav. I am also immensely attracted to this kind of work-ethic. It is what makes good people great and great people legendary. (and the world beautiful) :)
